The Illcarian military was once a great force, feared and loved by the different peoples of the land. When even the smallest village was having trouble, the military would be there, or often had a garrison there that would aid the town. Such was the case until the great fleeing, when the army was completely taken by surprise and utterly decimated. Today's army is different. When the three nobles of the ancient ruling houses petitioned King Mykel to grant them leave of his kingdom, and to reclaim their own homelands, they left with more than what they had asked for. King Mykel had departed a huge amount of soldiers to help, a sum of almost 10,000 soldiers. But this was not all. The descendants of the other refugees all came along also, most of the men joining the army. When the three Houses lead the forces into Illcara, they were near 12,000 strong. The force split into three, each House taking a portion into their territories. They do not fall for any of the old trickery of the vampires. The Illcarian Army is slowly gaining back it's reputation, as it progresses farther and farther into the vampire lands. Two new groups formed inside the army, The Sunrunners, a group of casters trained in battle magics, and the Wardens, an elite group of soldiers who were well trained in combat and ranger skills. Even the vampires have come to fear the Wardens, and most soldiers aspire to join the ranks of the group. |
