Commissioned Officers-
Commissioned officers are usually those who hold noble titles
within the lands. It is high near impossible for a regular adventurer to
attain the status of Brigadier General, but the ranks below it are
attainable. For adventurers to go the path of the officer, they must take
a test, be able to read and write, and have a general knowledge of
command. They earn a monthly pay, and all spoils of war must be turned in
to the Commissary. They are assigned a unit to command, and must do so
morally or face their command being relieved, and maybe even the removal
of their title as a noble of the lands.
Warrant Officers-
Warrant Officers are adventurers who wish to join the ranks of the
military, but wish to have a more free reign over what they do. They are
not paid monthly, but may keep a certain amount of the spoils of war they
come about. They must bring all they find to the local outpost's
Commissary to be checked and divided. Warrant Officers are placed in
command, but only as a reserve. They often are in the forces because they
have a special job that is needed.
Non-Commissioned Officers/Soldiers-
The ranks of the non-commissioned soldier are the grunts and
average warriors of the army. They are the ones that march to war, and
suffer the most casualties. They are paid little, and usually only
commoners proceed to join. As they progress through the ranks, they gain a
certain amount of respect and command, and the few commoners who become
Knights usually come though this path.
